Tube and Parts Kits

We're often asked to put together parts packages for those who want to build their own frame, but are confused by all the tube and part options. Below you will find two sets, one using standard size tubing and one oversize tubing, with lugs, BB shell, fork crown and a selection of components that can be built to work together for a rideable frame. Tubing is specified by the manufacturer for normal road type use. All components are pictured and detailed elsewhere on this website.

N.B. Tubes and Parts are not suitable for every use, all sizes or weights of rider, or all equipment. If there is something particular you have in mind to build or extra parts that you require for specific equipment, please feel free to contact us for details and costings.

* If you are new to brazing, or you are unsure of your ability, it is vital that you proceed with caution in fabricating your build. As a minimum we recommend you should do a good deal of practice brazing before you start on your frame project, together with cutting open and testing of the joints you make. Without brazing skills, it is easy to produce poorly penetrated joints, which may appear strong, but which may fail with use. Poorly built frames or frames built for heavy purposes/riders that the components were not made to withstand are potentially dangerous to the cyclist, particularly poorly brazed or understrength forks. For this reason we seperate out the fork components from each set and suggest you buy prefabricated forks, rather than build your own, unless you are confident of your fabricating skills for this task. Framebuilding courses are available in some countries. There are also web resources and some published information in print on framebuilding. Contact us if you would like further details. We can offer cheap practice lugs at £0.50 each (+ 17.5% VAT in EU) and tubes for practice brazing at £3.50 each (1 tube can be cut up and used with 3 lugs for maximal use of the tube) along with the kits above.
